Hi,
I want to understand why parameter sets are used. I belive they are used to set environment variables for jobs. I read that version 8 has many modifications in parameter set!! can any one discuss abt this
Parameter set what purpose does it serve?

You wouldn't ask that question if you'd ever had to repeatedly type in 30 parameters only to have the job abort cos you miskeyed a date ...
Parameter Sets are a means of setting up different groups of commonly-used parameters along with their default values, a very common requirement during dev and test and one which many sites have been handling in previous versions by means of standard parameter files, manipulated by unix scripts at runtime. Not an ideal solution during dev when you want to run the jobs thru Director...
