Remove "Phantom" Job
Hi everyone,
While running an dsx import, manager crashed and when I attempted to run the import again, I had a problem with one of the jobs. The error basically said "Job already exists and that the job was locked in DS_JOBS". However, when I look in the project, the job is nowhere to be found and when I try to view locked jobs (List.readu), there's nothing there. Does anyone know how to unlock or delete jobs in the DS_JOBS file so that I can import a clean version of this job.
Thanks

There are many ways to unlock a job
Do a search on "unlock job"
A quick solution
In DS director
Goto Job -> Cleanup resources.
Look into all the processes
Find "your job" (one that complains of being locked)
Click on the "Release" button

Finding answers is simple, all you need to do is come up with the correct questions.

You can unlock the jobs using the tool DS.TOOLS. You need to execute it from within the command window of the Administrator. Plus you would need admin rights only then you can unlock it.
Just follow the instructons that come when you execute it, I am sure you'll be able to find it, since the messages that it gives are quite straight and clear.
Moreover even if you do it from the director, you would need admin rights to unlock, I guess.

Success consists of getting up just one more time than you fall.
The issue is that the job does not actually exist in the project. When I view locked jobs, it's not there. However, I get the error that it is locked in DS_JOBS. Thus I can't go into director and find my job b/c it isn't there.narasimha wrote:There are many ways to unlock a job

This is a closed issue now as we were able to fix this problem.jpr196 wrote:The issue is that the job does not actually exist in the project. When I view locked jobs, it's not there. Thanks for the efforts though!
