DataStage uses the term "phantom" to refer to a background process. All DataStage processes are phantoms. Each directs its output to a file in the &PH& directory.
The first part of the file name is the source (DSD.RUN is a server job, DSD.OshMonitor is the parallel job monitor, and so on). The two numbers are the time and date (both in DataStage internal format) that the process began.
