(RESOLVED) rename of designer stages font in size 50 or more
Hi Yall,
For some unexplained reason my client configuration got messed up,
when I try to rename a stage or link I get a font size of 50 or more, which is to say the least is uncomfortable.
does anyone know the registry entry I need to adjust to get it back to normal?
p.s.
reinstall of the client didn't help
thanks in advance,

Roy,
Check to ensure that your desktop settings under "Settings" for font is set to small and not Large or Other.
This setting cured my problem when I had this pop up one day. Don't know why it happened, just did.

They have the uncanny ability to spontanously decide that you should use a specific feature in a specific way one day, despite your previous insistence on the opposite.
That's why I prefers W2k.

Has anyone actually read the EULA for Windows XP? It's one of the reasons I won't have anything at all to do with it.
My preference, in fact, is to stay with WinNT 4.0 sp6a, which has proven to be remarkably (for MS ) robust and stable.
But I do like Mac OSX (X.3?)

In my response to Roy I should have pointed out that this happened, to me, on a desktop running NT4.0 service pack 6a and had also happened to my Win2k desktop, but has not happened with my XP Pro machine and I have 3 different versions of DS running. Most all of the "quirky" client issues I have encountered have been while running something other than XP.

Thnaks all,
Michael, my setting is normal (lowest it has).
Teej, no need to assume just read the additional info .
this quirk still saddens me
till I get the registry entry to fix I found a temporary work around of using the property browser.
p.s.
this must be a windows entry since uninstall + registry deletion of all ascential entries + new installed didn't work (or so I think)
I hope to get the answer soon, at least before I loose my mind (j/k).
Thanks (a solution would be grately apreciated),

Roy,
Another option might be to reinstall the fonts from your Windows installation cd. Sometimes the font resolution and the video driver resolution can be out of synch. I think doing this will solve your issue, because as you point out, it is probably not a DS issue.

Oi! I am stabbed! Yes, it is a far-fetched assumption which turns out to be wrong.
Sure isn't the first time I have done that.
Honestly, the best question to ask yourself: What changed? Did you install a separate software recently? You noted a resolution change, why was it changed?

Hi,
the only change I made was to lower color resolution in order to maybe save on my pc resources, was a mistake if that did this, then again restoring the setting didn't help.
sigh

Is DataStage the ONLY place where you see the unusually large fonts?roy wrote:Hi,
