Hi,
I am trying to setup Datastage 8.0.1 (Server and Client) on Windows 2003 Server machine. WAS and Information Server are running fine. I followed all the installation steps and provided necessary credentials in information server. I am able to create and compile Server jobs successfully.
But, I am unable to create any parallel job as all the options related to Parallel jobs are disabled. Even in the 'create new job' options I find only server jobs and not parallel jobs. To cross check I tried to import a parallel job from dsx file, but it failed to import.
I see that the Parallel engine is installed in the Server folder and so is the MKS related utilities. All the other DS related services are running fine.
Am I missing something here in the installation steps? Has anyone faced similar problem with respect to 8.0.1 version of DS? I would appreciate any help.
Disabled Parallel Jobs in the fresh(new) installation

They're always installed. What enables them is the licensing. I believe you've provided a "server only" licence file. The licence file is an XML document, so you can view it with any text editor.

I checked the license xml file and I found the following entries under 'license-details':
Client 1) Classic:
DataStage and QualityStage Administrator
DataStage and QualityStage Director
DataStage and QualityStage Designer
2) Web:
Web Console for Information Server
Components:
Metadata Server
DataStage and QualityStage Server
Will there be any other entry in case of Parallel Jobs?

I got some good information related to licensing from the webpage:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... wg27018863
Here is the details from Information Servers web console:
Unit -------------------------------------------Count
Metadata Server ----------------------------------1 CPUs
DataStage and QualityStage Server-----------2 CPUs
DataStage and QualityStage Designer--------5 seats
DataStage and QualityStage Director---------unlimited seats
DataStage and QualityStage Administrator--unlimited seats
DataStage------------------------------------------licensed
Server Canvas-------------------------------------licensed
Web Console for IBM Information Server----unlimited seats
Should I have any license for Parallel Canvas?

"DataStage" is the parallel canvas. I'm surprised, though, just to see "licensed". Normally this interface reports processor value units (PVUs) or "quantity". Could this environment have been upgraded from a version 7 system? Do you have an "enterprise license"?
I think it's time to involve your official support provider.
