Kernel Settings
What is kernel settings? What is the use of this? What are kernel parameters in datastage?
Although my gut tells me that these are interview questions I'll still make an attempt at an answer.
the "Kernel" of an OS has a number of settings that can be changed to affect system setup and performance. Examples of kernel settings are such things as how much virtual memory the OS can address and the number of processes that one user id can run concurrently. Some of the kernel settings need to have specific values in order for DataStage to be installed and function correctly, these are detailed in the Installation guide and are dependent upon the implementation of UNIX being used.
