Hi all,
I am planning to give datastage certification. But I have 2 and 1/2 years of experience in Server edition and just two months experience with PX.
I dont have any installation experience either.
Can I clear the datastage certification?
I have ready a lot regarding PX from this forum and read the PX guide multiple times. If I push my company can send me for PX training.
Will training be helpful in clearing Certifications?
Where do I study Buffer related stuff, PX architecture considerations, Installation details, etc.
Apart from Parallel Developer guide, I have advanced PX guide, new things in datastage and Best PX practices guide.
I also plan to go through http://minhajuddin.blogspot.com/ and Vincent's blog.
What else do I need?
Any input will be helpful.
Thanks
Sumeet

I would strongly recommend you to attend a training session if you can. This would help you a lot with the understanding Datastage parallel edition. And also, Try to test the things you learn by testing them out by creating dummy jobs, that's the best way to learn. If I were you, I would spend atleast 3 months trying out different jobs and see how things work in Parallel (Parallel and Server editions may seem very similar, But there is a huge difference between them beneath the covers) before taking up my certification. Take time to explore different things and once you are confident enough, try a few questions from Ray's sample questions. All the best for your certification.
