we have a weird situation - when we start ds engine it says engine started but when we see bin/uv -admin -info it say Engine Status = Not Running.
when we do netstat -a | grep dsrpc it shows LISTEN mode.
we are able to log to datastage and run the jobs.
Any idea why un/bin -admin -info not showing correct information?
Thx

That is quite strange. What UNIX are you running on? If you execute "$DSHOME/bin/smat -x" do you get output? Also, if you attach to $DSHOME then issue "bin/uvsh" do you get the ">" prompt in UniVerse (if yes, enter "QUIT" to exit.

Yes, i can execute $DSHOME/bin/smat -x , it produced all General System Information
I can perform $DSHOME/bin/uvsh to log to Universe.
Thanks

I think that you will have to ask your support provider on this one - I've not seen "not running" displayed on a system that is running before.
