when i install the datastage, i met another error:
in the /tmp/dsinstall/logfiles
Error: (2) /datastage/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/BP.O - stat failed
Setup failed to configure helper routines.
before i installed,i have delete all the directories and files in the datastage install directory and tmp.
if i install datastage on the machine having install ,what should i do ?

besides the installation info you have you'll need to check with your sys admins or at least give us a hint which OS you have unix is a very large scale.

Apologies for reopening an old thread, but this might be useful for future searches.
This happended to me as well (Linux - 7.5.1A). Trying to run inastall.sh for the purpose of loading some plugins, I got the same error.
Turns out that the file system on which DSEngine resides (/opt in my case) was full.

I would say this was their biggest problem, Ross. Unless it is uninstalled completely and correctly, DataStage will still know that it was installed and attempt to go into maintenance or upgrade mode.
