Also after doing the above conversion don't use any derivation in your StringtoDate function, just use it StringtoDate(Field(DecimalToString(INPUT_COLUMN),".",1),%yyyy%mm%dd). You will finally get the output date in %yyyy-%mm-%dd format.

Hi richdhan,
I did it. But still it is giving ********* instead of date. If i define output column as char(10), then it is giving me correct output (2005-10-10). It means output cols contains just 10 char, then why "date" is not coming if i assign it as a date using "stringtodate" fn. It's really strange.
