Can we use hash files created in 6.1 in 70
We have some hash files created in 6.1 PX jobs and we need to use them in 7.0. First of all, can we copy hash files from one server to another? Secondly can we use hash files created in 6.0 directly in 7.0 jbs, if copying them is possible.
Hi Vinod,
Are you working on Server jobs or PX jobs. As far as I know hash files are for Server jobs and not for PX jobs.
I think it would be better if you would move this post from this forum to Ascential Server Edition forum. You would get better response.

The basic answer is 'yes'. Definitely on the 'can we use hash files created in 6' question, they haven't changed and are directly usuable.
On the question of moving them, again a yes with a caveat or two. If they were created with the 'pathed' option (ie, not in an account) then yes, simply move them like any other operating system file. Make sure you get all of the parts! Including the D_ metadata file if applicable.
For hash files created in an account like your project, then yes but you'll need to create a VOC record afterwards before they can be used. This has been covered ad nauseum in the Server forum, search there for 'VOC' and 'OVERWRITTING' and you'll turn up the syntax.
