user defined insert

Hi ,

In the oracle enterprise stage I am using the mode user defined update ,

but I am writing user defined insert query in this option , does it mater what code we write in it , whether it is update or insert statement , will it cause job to hang and not complete ,

please suggest, according to IBM replay to one of our problem they have pointed out that we are writing insert code in the user defined option just wanted to confirm ,
