The Lookup fileset performance wise looks most of the time best option.. Few places where I struggle in using lookup fileset is, no ability to view the data and no option to append the data.
Is there anything done regarding these in future release ? Or are there any alternatives to above problems ?

No alternative at present, and I'm not aware of any changes forthcoming in PX to change the fact that you can't view the lookup set data. I did some tests a while back and was surprised to find that lookup sets didn't perform any faster than working with normal datasets. I am sure that there are cases where the lookup set is preferable, but I couldn't find any.
