Creating User for DataStage

Post by s_rkhan »

Hi All,

I have created a group and for a particular project I want to give the access to that group. Although I have given access to that group for the project through DS administrator but still when I am trying to login with the new user I am getting the following error:-

Failed to connect to host: serverip, project: UV
(Internal Error (39202))

There is one similar post on this topic but that post says to change the directory permissions for the DSEngine directory. But is there any other way other than changing permissions.

Thanks,
srkhan

NOT THE ENGINE DIRECTORY. Messing with that has disastrous consequences. You need to make sure the project directory itself has the appropriate permissions.

Yes I have tried giving the permissions to even the Project directory but still it is not working.

make sure the users have full access to the project directory.

then, go to the Engine Directory.

give the appropriate perimmissions to the file
D_DS_LICENSE

and to the directory DS_LICENSE (including the t2 files contained int it)

to be sure, set the permissions as 777

another solution : every user of the group has the group of dsadm as secondary group (very bad)
