Yes, if you are running Enterprise Edition and intend on using the Transform Stage (I'm sure you are) then its a must....

You need VisualAge C++ 6.0 for Version 7.5A and later....If its Version 7.1 then its VisualAge C++ 5.0.2.0.....and you need all the load libraries and not just the runtime....

Previous response was correct for enterprise.
For Server we've found during upgrade 7.0 to 7.51
Make sure you have runtime equivalent to those stated in Setup guide. We had to upgrade to ViaualAge v6 (Nov 2004). Had problems installing later edition, pulled software off IBMs web site.

Also double check AIX OS level we require minimum 5.1.5 for the C runtimes.

To check C compiler version issue command at unix
lslpp -l | grep xlC
Thanks

Sorry didn't make it blindingly clear
For enterprise require full Visualage compiler / runtime the works.
For Server only need Visualage runtimes
Thanks
