Job Monitor App Failed

Hallo all,

We encounter JobMonApp failure quite frequent.
Failed to connect to JobMonApp on port 13401
Can you tell me what is causing this? As a result, our jobs returns "Finished - See Log" and causes our job sequences to abort.

Please advise ways to avoid this from happening. I've work on DataStage Server edition before but never encounter this problem.

Job monitor application is not running on this port. You need to start the JobMonapp and search the forum to get info abt how to restart this jobmonapp.

Look for posts on this issue in this forum.
To make things short, if this error persists ask Ascential support for a patch.

Yes. I restarted JobMonApp.

But my concern here is ... I want to know the reason for this behaviour. What is causing the JobMonApp to fail. Anyone had any idea?

Christina,

May I ask what UNIX do you use? And one more question : do you have DataStage installed with user "dsadm" or "root"? We had that kind of troubles on HP-UX with installations done using "dsadm".

You can go check the JobMonApp log file in ../PXENgine/java in order to see error messages. That may help you.

Chistina,

We are also having the same issues with jobmonapp. We just opened a ticket to find out what causes the jobmon to stop at the first place. I will let you know when I find this out.

Please post here if you have any resolution.
