Can anyone tell if i change any of the parameters of the .uvconfig file of the datastage engine ...will it be effected in the actual run of the job..

You will have a tough time editing the .uvconfig file, as it is binary. The uvconfig text file changes will not be used by the engine until you stop datastage, execute a uvregen and restart the server.

In case it's not clear in Arnd's post, drop the 'dot' from the front of the filename. You want to edit the regular uvconfig file instead of the hidden .uvconfig file.
And then yes - once you regen - your changes will more than likely 'effect the actual run of the job'... some more than others.

The .uvconfig is the kernel of DataStage so its not a file to edit per se or what I mean is 99% you don't need to touch unless your reconfiguring the slave and server files.
But the uvconfig is editable and presume thats what you desired to say. Of cource editing certain parms in here does make a difference such as T30 for hash files and server jobs....to DMEM and PMEMOFF for greater shared menory segment....and so on......
