Handling the data

Post by hondaccord94 »

Hi,
I am having a situation where I am getting the hexadecimal values in my data. Is there any way where I can get rid of them in my target data using a datastage job.

thanks

Do you mean non-printable characters? For example, we have character data that comes from the mainframe that gets converted from EBCDIC to ASCII, but still has garbage characters, like binary 0's, carriage returns, and who know what else.

We use a function in a buildop that I posted out here a while ago that may help. Check out this link: viewtopic.php?t=92871&highlight=stringtograph
