[Still a problem] Unable to initialize plug-in:

Hi All,
I have a situation where 64bit clients were installed then DS.
DBs in question:
TeraData
Oracle
Informix


They installed Oracle 32 bit 8.1.7 (64 bit was 9 version) since but still I can't import anything getting the Unable to initialize plug-in: error.
(I did change the PXEngine/lib to point to the 32 bit 8.1.7 version)

Does anyone have the dsenv entries for TeraData (or other config to get it working) ?

(at least my odbc to MSSqlServer works = 1 ray of light in the big dark world that Ray of light makes me wish he was here )

any ideas regarding those issues?

Have you added the <DataBaseType>/bin to the PATH variable?

yes I have.
I think this is even before any connection config
I never get to supply any connection info even!
right after I choose a plug-in type I get the error

any Ideas???

we installed via a remote CD on another HP since this once has no CD, could this have anythign to do with it

Hi,
Ok, it seems the 32bit client install was not ok or something with the Oracle 8 client.
they installed the 9i 32 bit version finally and it works.
same for TeraData.
Probably same for Informix (still need to install 32 bit client)

The thing that made me was that the 32bit 8 version didn't work.

Finally it's almost all behind me .

Hi,
I'm trying to connect to Informix.
First I had 64bit client, then I said 32bit client please.
So in addition to the 64bit client (f client version) they installed the h version that supports both 64 and 32 bit.
Still I'm unable to start a plugin import of table definitions.

Can anyone reassure my "guess" that I need a pure 32bit client meaning the u version of the client in order to connect to it?!

As DataStage on HP-UX is a 32bit application I would expect the Database clients you want to use would also need to be the 32bit versions.

Well still no luck with Informix,
Anyone working with informix when DS is on hp-ux?
I'd like configuration details for Informix client to make it work.
I currently got the 32bit for 64bit OS as I understand.
I followed all the config specs from the docs,but not working .

64 bit clients are NOT supported for use with DataStage at this time. There may be several client-specific releases that tentatively support that, but as far as I know, you must use 32 bit clients.

that means that an Informix sdk 2.8 (I think) of the HC version should work! (It's the 32bit for 64bit platforms)
by the way I got this mail:

I have the same problem as you , I run DS 7 on HP 64bit with Informix 9 as DataSource .

If I had I would have posted the solution .

as of now I configured the data direct odbc till/if we get it working.
