NO-OP modify stage?

Post by IASAQ »

In this old post, the user is talking about a "no-op" modify stage. I can't find any other reference to these terms in the forums. Anybody knows what the user meant?

Here's the post:

Andy meant a modify stage that only renames the column in question.

I asked a while back

viewtopic.php?t=156227&highlight=

which in a nutshell was me asking how to do nothing with a modify because I wanted that as an option in a parameterized job. Sometimes it does something, but other times not.

Which shows you the trouble with searching for something. I didn't use those exact words, and you didnt see the post.

A Modify stage with only a NOWARN specification should happily do nothing.
