current date time showing differetn then AIX system time

Post by mandyli »

Hi

we are seeing from Datastage current _time is different then system time.

From current date_time_function

2015-10-20 20:01:14

but in system is showing

/usr/local/Ascential - pa1sia-pfa001 $ date
Tue Oct 20 16:04:40 CDT 2015

someone changed timezone on /etc/etc/environment file. Is this impacting this ?

Thanks
Man

If the only difference is the timezone, I would go out on a limb and guess that the answer is 'yes'. If you change it back, does it fix it?

look in your dsenv

recommeded entry is to set timezone in there

TZ=/etc/localtime; export TZ

(remember that recommendations are not mandatory settings)

There are performance improvements for transformer stages with dealign with Red Hat Linux associated with TZ settigns as well.

Transformer stages that use any date functions in order to process that row of data will be affected by an hour or two offset if your jobs are dependent on that level of accuracy.

Any realtime jobs, MQ jobs, WISD jobs... also time dependent.
