Mainframes Files -zOSFile

Post by suryadev »

Hello,

can anyone let me know if I can use zOS file stage to read IMS, VSAM and other datasets directly from Mainframes?

If they can be read..are there any common issues which may be seen during reading?

Please suggest

Thank you!
Thanks,
Surya

Do you have the Classic Federation Server for z/OS?

If you don't have that product installed and configured, then you're not ready to use the z/OS File stage.

Mike has the first good point. Read the Classic Federation z/OS documentation at http://publibfp.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/c1934340.pdf as your starting point to find answers.

You will likely use the CFF stage as well. Reading the manuals is always a good first step.
