Please let me know the difference between connector and enterprise DB stages in general (when to choose one as opposed to other). I am looking for large data loads (Oracle, DB2, Netezza).

To me, connectors are the upgraded version of ODBC stage whereas native stages are well enough to handle the load is my understanding.

So, for large volume data loads, one should prefer Enterprise stage, right ?
And whats is the best use case for using the Connector stages.

That is unfortunately not correct SURA. Connectors in most cases are faster than enterprise stages. IBM has "deprecated" enterprise stages, which basically means they discourage their use and recommend using Connectors.

They have also said that they won't guarantee enterprise stages will get new functionality going forward.

Another thing connectors have going for them is ease of use. They are all fairly identical in layout and in usage, unlike the enterprise stages.

Definition of deprecation as it refers to software in case that term is unfamiliar to people. As noted, from what I've read IBM assumes you will switch over to Connector stages in all cases as the old ones are technically there for backwards compatibility and may go the way of the wind in a future release.

As you go backwards down the released versions you may need to do a 'feature check' to see if the Connector stage you are looking at supports all of the features of the older stages or at least the specific feature you need. As time goes on, those differences are thinning out and the Connectors are becoming (have become) the smarter / faster / better weapon of choice.
