Use of Oracle 8 Partition option

Post by samyamkrishna »

Hi,

We are using Oracle Enterprise stage.
and the job is running on 4 node.

if we use Oracle 8 Partition option the jobs gives a warning saying

"The index option included will be ignored because table loading will be done sequentially."

So whats the point of this option if we cannot run it in Parallel.
Can we give more than one partition so that it can run in parallel.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Samyam

Well... ok. Details, please.

Oracle is your source or target or both? Which 'end' is throwing the error? Is your table actually partitioned? And are you really running Oracle 8? That release is 14 years old at this point, so honestly curious.
