i want to know can the Datastage generate the Packed decimal format...
i have a input data in decimal format but in the output i have to generate a text file with the packed Decimal format for the Decimal i/p .
Please let me know what kind of conversion i need to do...so that i will explore more.

It won't be a "text" file if you write packed decimal data to it.
You can certainly write a packed decimal to an output sequential file though. Just go into the column properties and add the additional property... don't recall off the top of my head what it is called, but it is pretty obvious when looking at the property descriptions.
