How to document parallele job

Post by LittelTony »

Hi,
there's a simple way to document all the stages (and their properties like comments and more) used in a job? Third part product?

Thanks in advance

There is a Job Report button in the Designer, have you tried that?

Let's clarify:

A) You want to create a Report / Documentation of the existing job?

or

B) You wish to add comments to each stage of your job, thus ADDING to the existing job?

===========

For A, see CHULETTs answer.

For B, you'd have to script something up to manipulate a dsx file then reimport the job into designer.

This could be performed with a query against DS_JOBOBJECTS table where DSRID is of the form VnSm. This restricts the query to stages.

But every pin (link end) also has documentation. Do you need to worry about these too?
