Infosphere and HL7 format

Post by Rob4732 »

Hi Everyone,

Some background:

HL7 - Health Level 7 data format:

Version 2 HL7 - proprietary format.
Version 3 HL7 - xml format.

I read a couple of posts on this topic from several years ago, but not sure how much has changed since then(if anything).

I believe datastage TX can consume this format, however I read on an IBM site that TX will no longer be supported. I believe TX would also need to be purchased.

I imagine the xml format could be consumed by datastage.

Any additional information is appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

Yes, WebSphere Transformation Extender (the product formerly known as "TX" and "Mercator" before that, which for all I know has a new name now) is a separate purchasable tool. Yes, the XML format should be perfectly digestible by DataStage and perhaps even the "proprietary" format I imagine, depending on what it looks like and how well it is (or isn't) documented.
