Datastage might be waiting to get the response might be the reason why the job was in running state. If you look into the Director, you might see the entries till orchstats: loaded OR node info. After that no entires!

Try to split the job. If you need to do upsert, then write it in a file and then do insert and update in the next job.

What exact 8.x version do you have? What Oracle stage are you using? Have you checked with your official support provider to see if this is a known issue with your version?
