DB2Connector versus ODBC

Hi,
I read an article about performance comparison between DB2Connector and ODBC :

It says DB2Connector has the best performance.
We're using Datastage 8.5. I just tested both connectors, DB2Connector and ODBC to extract data from same DB2 table (z/OS), and the run time for ODBC is double faster than DB2Connector.
Can somebody tell me if we must set some parameters for DB2Connector to get faster or is ODBC really the best choice for connecting to z/OS DB2 table ?
