A simple query

I have a DS job having only 2 stages,One Oracle stage to invoke select query which fetch data from a table and then a target oracle stage which update few records.
There are no direct insert and no internediate stage.
Should I add an intermediate stage like copy or Xformer beween source and target oracle stage ??
