We are working on a solution with various 3rd party tools including ETL which could be bundled into a product. Our initial go was to make use of Informatica. However the requirement wanted us to package the entire solution into an executable without GUI which can be deployed at client site. Informatica does not provide a way of packaging its mappings to executables. We are now looking at whether Datastage can offer this kind of feature of generating executable and running the executable without GUI. Last 2 years I have not been working on Datastage, but I had come across an article which said Datastage can provide such a solution.

Could anyone please provide valuable inputs on this.

Yes datastage is capable of exporting executables only without GUI.

Keep in mind here that "executable" in the context of DataStage is not simply a compiled, executable program. It is a series of one or more scripts which are executed within the DataStage Server and/or Orchestrate (parallel) engines.

You should contact IBM directly to see if the type of bundling you are considering would be feasible or even allowed.

Thanks James. Now, this may involve dealing with interfaces, server and client licenses and other regulations. We are in the process of initiating talks with IBM. Hope we get some positive signs from them :)
