Yes for Dataset and no for seq file.

The disk location mentioned in pxresource section of configuration file , defines the location where datasets will be stored on the server

Not always, that is just the default. The location is actually specified within the DataStage descriptor file itself.

Hi,

Is there any relation b/w dataset, configuration file or seq file and configuration file

As I am not the premimum member I was not able to view the latest post..( may be repetative info ! :D )

Dataset is persistent stoarage for datastage which is stored depending on how many nodes used in Configuration file. That's why it is used in parallel processing. When you check the contents on the dataet it shows how many records processed by each of the node. So in that way Configuration file and dataset are related.

In case of sequential file, data is read sequentially ( if you have not set the number of readers for the file !), so it does not matter how many nodes are present in the Configuration file..

Hopw this Helps !

All that changes if the configuration file mentions an import and/or export pool.
