Job with Pivot stage aborting

Post by Puli »

The job containing pivot stage aborts with the following error.

Event: main_program: PATH search failure:

Event: main_program: Could not locate operator definition, wrapper, or Unix command for "horizontal"; please check that all needed libraries are preloaded, and check the PATH for the wrappers

Operator.apt file has the follwing entries
dscapiop @dscapiop 1
pivot orchpivot 1
verticalpivot orchpivot 1

The pivot stage used to work fine until the installation of a patch.

The pivot we are using is of type "horizontal". Kindly let me know a solution for this.

Where did you introduce the word "horizontal" into your design? A Pivot stage does not need this.

We are using Pivot Enterprise stage which has both vertical and horizontal options.

Then I would submit that you either need to uninstall the patch or see if there is a patch for the patch. Check with whomever you got it from and also verify it installed correctly.

I am seeing the same message when using a horizontal pivot on a new installation.

Did you manage to resolve this issue?

We had the same problem when we upgraded to 8.1 fp1.

The issue was actually caused by a modification to the stage whereby the Pivot Type has been changed from 'horizontal' to 'Horizontal' along with the introduction of 'Vertical'. But the old Pivot Type is still reflected in the job, so reselecting the 'new' Pivot Type and recompiling addressed the issue for us.

In the past we spent hours recreating the pivot elements by hand. Now we just flip the pivot type defintion from horizontal to vertical back to horizontal and recompile, a five second fix. Could almost pivot in delight.
