Read Dat file in datastage

Read Dat file in datastage

I have a Dat file as source, any one can say how to read this file in datastage , please help in this

Dat file? Digital Audio Tape? Something with a .dat extension?

Have you tried to import the metadata from it or have you been given the same? Can you post some sample records?

If it's just a flat file, use the Sequential File stage.

Nah.

Don't need no stinkin' metadata.

The question was "read", not "parse".

I guess we don't want to guess any more. Let's await the original poster's amplification of what, after all, could be an interview question.
