DataStage Development Control

Hi all,
This topic is to discuss the development control on DataStage.
CA company has a product 'Endevor' that used in Mainframe. It has a perfect control on the whole development cycle.
1. Once a developer check in the elements that need to be amended
2. Other developer is read-only to this element, what they can do is to communicate with the 'check in' developer, merge the code and perform testing together.
From my experience, there is a property "READONLY" in DS_JOBOBJECTS of DS 7.x. However, once this property was set, it apply to all user. So above requirement can't be achieved.
Since DS 8.x is quite different from DS 7.x, I wanna know if DS 8.x can do the similar development control as well.
