Datastage advantages over SSIS

Post by kogads »

Hi All,
Can any one please give a broad picture on the advantages using Datastage over SSIS.I have to defend using Datastage over SSIS with my client. SSIS is cheaper and obviously client is pushing us to use SSIS for ETL instead of DS. Appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

It is great if all your sources are SQL Server. That is not the case in most companies. If you need to run UNIX scripts or get information from UNIX servers then you have a lot of issues. The more complex the transformations the better DataStage perfoms or the larger the volume. You can integrate DataStage with anything including mainframes. It comes with PeopleSoft and SAP. No better endorsement than that.
