Can Information Server DataStage v8 be used on Windows 7 (server + client)?

The only thing that I can find on the IBM website is that the minimum requirement for IS Server on Windows is Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2. But that doesn't specify anything about Windows 7.

From which omission you can determine that Windows 7 is not (yet) a supported operating system for DataStage.

Rumour has it that Windows 7 will be supported, at least for clients, in the next version.

Does that mean that Windows Server 2003 is the only windows version that is supported for a Information Server server?

Q: How long does it take IBM to support the latest operating system?
A: Over two freaking years!

Keep paying those support and maintenance fees... IBM is laughing all the way to the bank. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

IBM could not begin testing until August 2009, based on that timetable.

There is support for Windows 7 in Foundation Tools 8.1.2 (recently released) - doubtless for other products in the suite in the next-released version (first half of this year).

Stay tuned.
