Find the executable (C:\IBM\InformationServer\Clients\ISC\isc.exe) and create the shortcut yourself, by dragging to the desktop.

Then your installation of the clients is incomplete.

Thanks Ray for your reply. How do I verify this? Because the version.xml file is saying successful installation.

Code: Select all

<Products>
    <Product installLocation="C:\IBM\InformationServer" key="informationanalyzer" name="Information Analyzer" tiers="client" version="8.1.0.0"/>
  </Products>
.
.
.
<History>
    <Sequence description="ibm_websphere_information_server" id="0" installLocation="C:\IBM\InformationServer" lastUpdateDate="Tue Dec 08 13:57:31 GMT 2009" patch="" rollback="" status="SUCCESS" version="8.1.0.0"/>
  </History>

I also faced a problem where-in the shortcuts could not get created. I believe this point is one of the last steps on installation.

It surely is a pointer to the installation not being done properly

Thanks Sreeni for your reply. But in my case as Ray pointed out the client installation is incomplete. I am not seeing folder "ISC" created under InformationServer/Clients folder where as the same time version.xml is saying Information Analyzer installed successfully.

My question was where I can check my client installation status other than version.xml?

I can't see anything in your file that specifies that Information Analyzer installed correctly. You are assuming that because it tells you that Information Server installed correctly this includes Information Analyzer.

...then the question is what is the solution of this problem, because user already tried to install the product four times and same result he is getting after every install attempt.

Is there anything useful in any of the log files in C:\IBM\InformationServer\logs folder?
