Hi All,

We are using the Sybase Enterprise Stage to Extract Data, we have a problem when we use more than 4 or 5 union all in the extraction query.

Has anyone faced similar problem, is there any limitation in the sybase enterprise stage editor.

This is the error message that we see.
( The name supplied is aliased to another user )

Guessing it's not a 'union all' limitation but rather a length of the query limitation. Regardless, something like that should be asked of your official support provider.

How can you believe that "The name supplied is aliased to another user" relates to UNION operator?

I don't, I think it's one of those goofy errors you can get when you hack off the end of a query.

There are around 12 union all's and when I use 6 union all they work fine but anything more than that returns the error which leads me to think that the issue revolves around the union all's.

No, it revolves around the total size of the query string.

Check with your DBA or Sybase manuals about the maximum length of a query string that can be sent from a client.

Try executing the same query from a different client than DataStage.
