moving from one data device to another, Datastage was brought down, the /opt/dstage/Ascential filesystem was copied -p by root to the new device.
now cannot log into any client, including admin, by any id, including dsadm.
can start and stop the server using /bin/uv; can get into universe using uvsh. bin/uv gives the cannot load libgciudt6.so message. DSHOME is set, dsenv was not changed; I verified the setuids were all okay (that's why we got the SA to do the copy.

all permissions look the same except for a few directories now have rwxrwsr-x instead of rwxrwxr-x which shouldn't make a difference.

any suggestions?

thanks,

Ande

Apart from doing it properly (not with an operating system copy command)?

Not really.

Does bin/dssh work instead of bin/uv ?

uvsh works just fine.
why do you think a cp -p by root would not work? Datastage is not sensitive to devices...

Because there are "system table" entries that refer to objects by pathname. Unless the new pathnames are identical to the old, there will be grief.

Don't those "pathnames" also include the system name and/or IP address? :?

Not in version 7 (if my memory serves me correctly).

copying the whole filesystem.
no new names or directories. dismounting old, mounting new.
I don't see anything sensitive to devices.

any suggestions?
