Hi All,

We brought the new SAP PACK software (client and server), we want to install client in out machine and server in Solaris.

Anybody have any idea, how to install these client and servers. I read the document saying that for client we need to install setup.exe and for server we have to install install.ksh.

But i have a question about .dll how many dlls we required before we load the client and server...??

please let me know if any one has any idea about PACKS ??

Can you rephrase the question.

Are you asking the count of DLLs in the pack?

"dlls"? Who cares, none are required before. You've already got the answer to your "how" question, run the commands they gave you and you'll be good to go. If you have a question or problem after that, come back.

You will have to install client component, server component, couple of SAP transports in SAP that are shipped with the PACK and download a dll from SAP service marketplace. It's not for the weak hearted especially if you have not done it before and do not have general SAP knowledge like tranports, RFC, IDocs, BAPi etc. In addition it will require some environment variables to be set. After installation, you will realize SAP packs are little more sophisticated than other stages just because SAP itself is complicated and has it's own propritory interfaces.

And not to mention, the security aspect on SAP side that you will have to tackle. I would suggest hire a consultant to do the job. It should take 1-2 days to install and create sample jobs for each of the 3 interfaces (ABAP, IDoc and BAPI) if the person knows what he is doing.

Hope this helps. One thing is for sure, if you have SAP ERP then installing SAP Packs will prove to be the best thing you did in your ETL landscape.

To install client version on developer's machines, you need to copy librfc32.dll to C:\WINDOWS\system32 or librfc32.dll will be copied when you install SAP GUI on developers machines.

librfc32 is installed part of sap logon pad.
