DataStae v8 Installation Process

Post by Souji »

Hi Guys,
We are trying to install DataStage v8 in my Windows 2003 server Machine. I installed correctly as of my knowledge and cofigured as mentioned in the manuals

I'm getting Flollowing Error Message:

User Name/Password is not corrrect (80011).

I gone through each and every post in our form but not get the right solution.

I have 2 options
1) uninstall datastage v8
2) find exact solution for login to datastage

This is first time I'm posting in this form. Please rectify me if I am wrong

Looking forward for the solution

Thanks

This could be the username/password combination for the repository database.

Since you haven't specified where your problem is occuring it is difficult to guess what the cause might be. If the error is when you are installing the server, how far along does the installation get? There are various userid/passwords used in different places.

When I try to log on using Designer and Director, Getting Username/password is incorrect.
where as i can uble to login Datastage webconsole and Information Analyzer.

Please rectify me if I'm wrong or any grammer mistakes :)

Ahh, that changes things a lot. In the webconsole, did you go into Administration -> Domain Management -> DataStage Credentials; choose your server and enter the default credentials (correctly)? This is where the incorrect userid/password combination is most likely coming from.

ArndW,
I entered into Information Server Webconsole

1) Selected Administration Tab
2) Domain Management
3) DataStage Credentials
4) There is a Radio button, Selected name for that and Open Configuration
5) Server Configuration : Here is my doubt. This Server config for DataStage and Quality stage Login?. Please Correct me if I am wrong.

Or do I need to login using Server Web Console login Credentials?.

Finally I did selected Uses Tab under Users and Groups
Selected New option and assigned user Roles.

Here is one more doubt: Is this created user pointing to Datastge and Quality Stage Designer and director?

Once again thank you very much for your help

You need to enter the credentials for the UNIX userid and corresponding password in that space (and don't check the box - I can't remember what the exact text is, but it is something about pooling or sharing the server's user information).

In the DataStage Credentials screen you should either choose LDAP authentication for all products or choose a user name or login that has access to the DataStage engine operating system such as DSADM. Read the Admin Guide for more info such as this:
WebSphere Information Analyzer, WebSphere DataStage, and WebSphere QualityStage require that there is a valid operating system user id on the computer where the engine tier is installed. For each IBM Information Server user that needs to access the IBM Information Server engine, you must map the IBM Information Server user credentials to valid operating system user credentials that exist on the engine tier.

The operating system user id must have modify permissions for all the subdirectories of the IBM Information Server directory. To grant IBM Information Server users access to the IBM Information Server engine, you can share the user registry, specify default credentials, or map the credentials on a user by user basis.
