Not able to see the links and stages

Hi,

We have installed the Datastage(8.0.1) on SunOS.We are getting some probles.

1) Once design the job we are able to see the stages and links. once I closed the designer and re-opening the same job, we are unable to see the links and stages.

On what operating system and at what service pack level is your DataStage client installed? There is a (necessary) patch called something like xpsp2 available from your support provider if it's Windows XP service pack 2.

Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", it should be listed right there on the main tab/page.

OK, so you have XP w/ "SP2" a.k.a. "Service Pack 2". You need to check with your official support provider and see if that patch is still needed in the 8.x version. It definitely is needed for 7.x, fyi. No clue if that actually will fix your problem or not but you need to get that possibility off the table.

However - you said "we" have the problem, does this mean that everyone is seeing the exact same behaviour? Most of you? Just you? Are you all running the same version of Windows on your PCs? Trying to get an idea if this is a client issue or a repository/server issue.
