Are you using special characters in your password?

Have you tried to check the NLS between the DS server and the DataBase?

Can you connect to any Oracle instance? Meaning, do you have a problem with just a specific instance or you cannot connect to any instance? :?

If you can't connect to anything Oracle, you need to verify that the DataStage server has an Oracle client installed on it and is configured properly. Are all of the environment variables set properly? And have you tripled checked all of the obvious reasons for an error like that? Verified you have a tnsnames.ora file on the DataStage server in the normal place and the name you are using is listed in it? If you have multiple tns files or are unsure it is actually finding it, set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to the directory where it can be found and see if that helps.

Were you able to connect in the past and cannot now, or is this the first time you are attempting this and you cannot make it work? For the latter, as I noted, you need to ensure you have an Oracle client on the DataStage server and that it has been configured properly for DataStage. Do you? Have you? :?

Being able to connect from sqlplus or "other etl tool owb" from your client pc means nothing if that's what you are asserting. Or do you mean you can connect using them from the DataStage server? That would at least imply a client is installed there.

This has nothing to do with special passwords or NLS. Yet.

Describe the Oracle-related sections of the DataStage dsenv script. My guess is that you have not completed these properly.

My error.

Describe fully the Oracle-related environment variables that you have set up in your Windows server. Prove (for example via a DataStage log entry) that these are being picked up correctly by DataStage processes.

If you don't answer the questions how do you expect us to help?

Veterinarians charge a lot more than human doctors because they have to diagnose patients who can't answer their questions.
