diff between head node and compute node

Hi All,

Can anyone give me the difference of head node and compute node.

Even your documentation / training about executing DataStage in a grid environment should have differentiated these terms. They are only relevant when you are running under control of some kind of grid management software.

Put simply, the head node is where control is exerted; the conductor process runs there, and no player processes (though it is possible to have some computation on the head node, use of hybrid head/compute node is not recommended by IBM, though I know not why).

A compute node is one where computation is done; that is, where player processes execute.
