Not able to connect Oracle 11g through 7.5 PX Jobs

Post by saraswati »

Hi ALL,

I am not able to connect Oracle 11g through Datastage 7.5 PX Jobs, though I am able to do so using Server Jobs.

Please let me know if any settings need to be changed due to this.

I am not able to view data through the Oracle Enterprise Stage when I am doing so.

regards,
Saraswati

Can you provide more information on what you are trying to view and what message you get.

I am using simple select like, SELECT 'SARASWATI' A FROM DUAL.
Through server Job I am getting 'SARASWATI' after doing a View Data.

Through Parallel Job, I am getting this error:
"No rows were returned from the View Data server command.
Would you like to view the command's output?"

Even if you do an OK, there is nothing in the Command Output.

As mentioned previously the database here is on Oracle 11g.

Was it working fine before (maybe with different version of oracle)?

Have you checked the PX installation steps for Oracle?

Is Oracle 11g supported in version 7.5? Check with your official support provider. Since Oracle 11g came out after DS 7.5, I wouldn't be too surprised if it wasn't completely supported.

You must be able to use old (10) client to access 11.

IBM said only version 8.1 support 11g. not even 8.0...

Sure, "officially", but I would still think that you could be successful using an older client to connect to it. Worked well with 9i to 10g, for example.

Which version of 7.5 series you're using, to connect to 11g.
What I know is Only after 7.5.3 V series supports 11g because we are using 7.5.3 to connect to 11g.

We are on DataStage 7.5.1a and we were told that we had to upgrade to 7.5.3 in order to access Oracle 11g. Even though 7.5.3 is able to connect to 11g database, officially, DataStage says they only support version 8.1 and higher when running against 11g.
