Uanble to read data from oracle views

I used oracle enterprise stage to read the data from a view.
I selected the option as Read method--> table and under table name i given as vw_assets (which is a view).When i am trying to view the data it's giving error as "APT_OracleRowid8PartTable: Failed to get the block count" and "Erros were encountered partitioning the table vw_assets".
From this i think Using "Read method = Table" we can't able to read views..
Am i right DS gurus..
