Login issue in 8.1 after import/exporting the datastage jobs

Post by prasad111 »

Hi,

After importing/exporting the datastage jobs (around 45 jobs) into IIS 8.1 works fine for sometime.
But after certain time(around an hour)
If you are connected, it will disconnect the connection (not allow to make any changes)....
If you try to login it will not allow to login into Designer, Director or the Web console....it just hungs up (no error message)
--A file was created in UNIX when you try to login, the log is

I have checked in the database it has enough space (more than 60% space available).
No changes are done in the Project or in the UNIX during that time.

Could anyone suggest what could be the problem?

You might be experiencing the issue with the Java VM in the 8.1 release. IBM just sent me the documentation on this issue yesterday:
Information Server 8.1 has an issue that prevents applications like the DataStage clients, Information Analyzer clients and any client that relies on ASBNode functionality from connecting to an 8.1 server when the client is invoked from an environment that meets the following criteria:

The client is invoked from a virtual machine that has a network setting of NAT

The client is invoked from a system that uses a router that creates a private network for local use while connecting to another network via a shared IP address, as is the case when working from home.

The issue will manifest itself as a hang when trying to connect, but if you wait long enough it will timeout, with a message like ... (message that looks similar to your message).
...
The issue can be resolved by installing the 1.5 SR7 version of the JVM on your client system...
IBM can send you the full documentation and new JVM software.

IBM confirmed this is not related to Java VM issue.
Now the server gets hung up many times, we still don't know what is the root cause of the problem.
