I just did a fresh installation along with the patches. I get this message when I click on Designer or Director. Any ideas?

Pkease post the entire error message - the subject line truncates it. ASB = Application Server Backbone.

This is often caused by a failure to load the JVM on the client due to insufficient memory.

If you look in C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\conf there should be a file "proxy.xml". It should have a line that reads something like:

Code: Select all

             <add key="MaximumHeapSize" value="384" />
You may see a different number (probably 1024 for DS 8.0.1).
You could try making the number smaller and trying again....

I also had this problem today
I solved it by uninstalling the client
Deleting every "informationserver" entry in the registry by using regedit
Then I install the client again

On my Vista PC, I

1. uninstall the information server client
2. reboot my pc
3. regedit and search for the string "ascential" without quotes and remove all possible occurrences carefully
4. reinstall the IIS 8.0.1 client

then it works.
