Does Datastage recognise exponential numbers?

ie., incoming data is 9.9999999999999995e-07
and we want to recognise this in datastage and then do validation on this.

any advise or help would be appreciable

Search the forums for 'exponent', this has been discussed before. From what I recall, it expects the 'e' to be in upper case to be recognized but a search should turn up the details.

Precision can also be an issue; there are precision limits on decimal number. In your example you will be introducing a requirement for an additional seven digits of precision (since you are multiplying by 10**-7); does your output field data type cater for that?
